AFTER-SCHOOL AND LUNCHTIME CLUBS - AUTUMN TERM 2008

We offer a wide variety of sports, music and activity clubs during lunch hours and after school.
There will normally be no clubs on the first week of school after a holiday.
(Occasionally, clubs are run by external bodies and these will run on whichever day is designated by them, but you will be informed.)
The children are expected to stick to the clubs they ask to attend for a half term at the least.

  • School clubs run by staff are subject to cancellation if the member of staff is ill or at a meeting and the club cannot be covered by another member of staff. Staff are giving up their own time to run these clubs.
Clubs run by school staff are free.
  • Clubs run by outside organisations and arranged by school are charged for, to cover instructor costs. These clubs are covered by the organisation if the usual member of staff cannot attend. Most of our external coaches are from SASP**.
  • Some music tuition is provided by private tutors during curriculum time. This currently includes clarinet, piano, recorder and guitar. Parents and tutors make the arrangements privately and school works with the tutors to accommodate this opportunity in school time. School does not handle the money for this tuition.
  • Debbie Aspey's dance club is a privately run enterprise and takes place at lunchtime in the school hall.

All sports clubs that rely on outdoor facilities may be cancelled due to very poor weather and we do our best to give you the maximum notice possible. Where the notice is too short we do our best to make some provision indoors as H and S allows.

If you are interested in helping to run, or organise a club please let us know - we would be delighted to hear from you!
