Pupils in Reception are given homework based on their needs.
We recognise that reading is integral to learning and ask that you hear your child read at least 5 times a week.
Key Stage 1 and 2
Please see individual class pages for homework timetables.
Pupils will receive weekly spellings homework. These words will be introduced and taught in class. Children will have a week to practise their spellings at home before being tested.
Pupils will receive weekly maths homework. This may take the form of mental and oral times table practice, online homework or work sheets.
Pupils will receive English homework throughout the academic year. English homework will primarily focus on reading comprehension skills.
Please continue to read with your child at least 5 times per week. Please make a note of this in their red home-school diaries.
The Rainbow Homework has been created with the support of parents who participated in a Literacy Steering Committee.
Children in Year 1 through to Year 6 will receive the Rainbow Homework every term. The homework will relate to the topic they are learning.
At the end of term children are then able to exhibit their homework for other classes and the wider school community to see.
