PTFA Newsletter - Summer 2010
A brief update on all the fundraisers
held recently:
It seems to have been an extremely busy July, starting with
the Summer Fayre on the 2nd of July where the school raised
£819. The fayre was closely followed by the sports day
breakfast. This year bacon butties, pain au chocolat, croissants
and Let's Get Cooking muffins were served up with tea and
coffees throughout the morning. Sports day breakfast raised
£81. The feedback on this was very positive, so any
ideas for next year email me on Bakersgranary@talktalk.net.
Bingo! Well the first bingo held was not very successful,
as there were very few people, so we just completed four out
of the eleven games and saved the prizes of the remaining
seven games for a second bingo. The turnout for the second
bingo improved and in total raised £231.34.
Last but not least - the final year's cake sale raised £61.70.
Thank you to all who constantly contribute cakes. This year's
cake sales brought £302.78 in to the PTFA funds.
Please
Do we have any parent/grandparent/ friend of the school willing
to be our chairperson in September? As you may be aware, we
have been running for half of the year without a chairperson.
This is obviously not ideal and we really are in need in September
for someone to act as chairperson. The PTFA have quite a lot
of parents who are happy to help out at functions so the chairperson's
job is not too onerous. Please contemplate the role, as our
AGM is in September and bluntly we cannot continue without
a chairperson.
THANKS
Finally a massive Thank you to every parent, teacher and (of
course) all the children for contributing in every way to
raise funds for the school.
Have a great Summer Holiday,
see you in September.

you up to date on what we have been doing this year. So far
we have provided, contributed towards or agreed to provide:
new black out blinds for Class
1
new reading books for Class 2

new bark for the adventure playground
a new marquee which will be available for school use and private
hire.
We have organised the following
events for the children:
Beetle drive
Disco
Easter Egg Hunt
All of the above have been made
possible by the hard work and contributions of the school
community so a huge thank you to all of you!
The beetle drive ( special thanks
to Fern) and disco were both very popular and the Easter Egg
hunt will be held this Friday after school with tea, coffee
and a cake sale. We would be very grateful for any donations
of cakes and biscuits - please leave them in the boxes provided
outside the office on the day. We hope this event will send
everyone off on their Easter holidays with a smile!
The P.T.F.A is a committed group
of parents, teachers and friends. The committee is open to
all, you don't need to attend all the meetings to be a member
and we always welcome new faces. Our success involves much
giving of money and time but also provides great fulfilment.
The next committee meeting is on the 30th April at 3pm. If
you have any ideas on how to help raise money, or even suggestions
on how to spend it we would love to see you.
Our plans for fun and fundraising
in the summer term include:
Summer Fair
Bike Gymkhana
Quiz Night
With best Regards
Lucy Tull and Rah Cattell

Summer Term 2008
Thanks to everyone who came
along and supported/helped with the two bingo nights last
half term. They were a lot of fun and raised just over £625.
Big thanks to Fern for all her efforts :
PTFA Marquee: This now has a
home with Gill and Phil Luxton, so contact them if you are
interested in hiring it.
Cycling Proficiency Test: So
far I have only had two parents speak to me about this so
I don't think it will be happening this term. If anyone else
is interested then please do let me know and maybe it could
be sorted for the autumn term.
Bicycle gymkhana: 20th June
at the cricket club, 4 - 6 pm. Weather permitting we will
be having a bike gymkhana: as the name implies lots of fun
races for the children based on the usual pony club games
but with bikes! We will be giving out rosettes and also be
having an on foot clear round jumping / obstacle course. There
will be refreshments including a BBQ so it should be a fun
event for everyone. Schedules will be sent out next week.
Summer Fete: This is planned
for 4th of July 3pm. All the usual stalls and games, plus
a fancy dress parade with America as the theme.
The next meeting is on Monday
9th June,7.30 pm at school. This is to plan the Summer Fete
and finalise the bike gymkhana, everyone welcome, especially
if you can help!
Thank you for everyone's continued
support.
Best wishes

CHRISTMAS FAYRE
I just wanted to say a
MASSIVE
THANK YOU !
To everyone who helped, donated
and came to this year's Christmas Fayre.
It was a huge success and so
far we have raised in the region of £1500 which is absolutely
brilliant.
To help us further if you have
any comments or feedback on the Fayre, the running of it,
stalls, layout or anything you did or didn't like, please
write them on the back of this letter and send them back to
school. This is for everyone, including those who helped on
the night.
We will be having our next PTFA
meeting on Monday January 21st at 7.30 in the school hall.
Everyone is welcome and we will be discussing what to spend
the funds on and future fundraising events. So if you have
any ideas or requests please come and share them or speak
to me directly.
Once again thank you for all
your support and have a very Merry Christmas
Best wishes

CHRISTMAS
FAYRE DONATIONS
Many thanks to everyone who
has contributed so far, we have loads of lovely jam jars,
chocolates and bottles.
A slight change of request for
Friday 30th November, non-uniform day.
In return for your children
coming to school in non-uniform could you please donate 50p
(or more if you wish!) per child.
This means we can get anything
we are short of for the fayre and avoid having too much of
one thing.
We really appreciate everyone's
donations, thank you again.

NOVEMBER
2007 NEWSLETTER
Thank you to everyone who replied
to our questionnaire last half term. We are looking at all
the suggestions and will let you all know what fundraising
activities we will be running and what the money will be used
for in the New Year.
In the meantime we are busy
getting all the preparations underway for the Christmas Fayre
which will be on Friday December 7th in the evening. This
is a lovely festive event for all the family and helps launch
all the Christmas activities that go on in our school.
This year, in addition to the
usual mulled wine and mince pies, we will be serving hot turkey
rolls and soup so come for supper!
Over the next few weeks we will
be making requests for donations for the Fayre as follows:
This week: Empty jam jars with
lids, or small items to the value of £1 to go in the
jars, or both.
Week beginning 19th November:
Bottles and chocolates for the tombola.
Friday 30th November: Non uniform
day in return for bringing in mince pies or gifts that we
could sell.
We really appreciate everyone's
donations, if you would prefer to make a cash donation instead
we will use this to provide the items we need for the Fayre.
Many thanks
