Coronavirus - Covid 19

Dear Parents and families,

Overnight the government has made significant changes to their advice regarding Coronavirus/Covid-19.

I would ask  that if anyone in your family develops a 'new and continuous' cough and/or temperature that the self-isolation guidance is strictly followed.

The school will be closely monitoring all children and staff. Anyone developing symptoms during the school day will be isolated and sent home.

Guidance on social distancing for people with medical conditions has also been changed and I advise all families to consider their children's continued attendance at school if they meet this criteria.

COVID-19: guidance on social distancing and for vulnerable people - GOV.UK

This guidance is for everyone. It advises on social distancing measures we should all be taking to reduce social interaction between people in order to reduce the transmission of coronavirus ...

These changes have already had an impact on our staffing levels and will continue to do so over the coming few days. As a result we may need to make a partial closure or changes to provision at short notice.

Staffing levels may also affect breakfast and after school provision at short notice.

Please keep an eye on your emails/our website  and check them before you set out for school in the morning

Please ensure that your contact list is up to date and that someone will be available to take calls and collect your children if it is necessary.

The school site, including the top playground, will now be restricted to staff children and essential visitors only. When children are dropped off and collected this will be done through the school gates, supervised by a member of staff.

As a result all children from after school and breakfast as well as sports clubs will be collected via the office intercom.

We also continue to ensure that we have robust plans in case a full closure is announced.

Current measures in place aim to reduce change as much as possible and ensure that the chances of cross infection are limited, so that our school can continue to provide provision for our children.

I know these are extraordinary times and we thank you all for your continued support and will of course continue to keep you informed of any changes or new guidance that we receive.

Kind regards,
