Lydeard St. Lawrence
Lydeard St. Lawrence is a small village in the Taunton Deane area of Somerset, lying between the Quantock Hills AONB and the Brendon Hills, at about 120m above sea level. It is about 10 miles to the north west of the county town of Taunton. The parish covers a large rural area and encompasses several small hamlets including Westowe, Pyleigh, Chapel Leigh and Westleigh.
The village has a large church, village hall primary school, outreach Post Office and cricket club.
The village community keenly support school activities. The pupils regularly visit the church as part of their studies, or to hold the termly Celebrate Learning Assembly and other significant annual events.
